Criminal law

Carl Johan Tengvall has extensive experience in criminal law. He undertakes assignments as a public defender, legal counsel for the injured party, and special representative for children. He has particular experience in cases from the International Prosecution Office.

Family law

In family law, he acts as a representative in matters concerning custody, residence, visitation, division of property, and maintenance. Additionally, he takes on assignments as a guardian and legal representative in matters related to guardianship and similar issues.

Social law

Carl Johan also has significant experience in social law cases. He has particular expertise as a representative and public counsel in LVU, LPT and LRV cases and has litigated in various courts across the country.

As of March 1, 2021, specific requirements apply for those wishing to be appointed as public counsel for minors in LVU cases. Only those with the necessary knowledge, experience, and suitability may be appointed (see Section 39, second paragraph of the LVU and Government Bill 2020/21:35).

The Administrative Court in Stockholm deems that Carl Johan Tengvall meets the requirements for such appointments.

Carl Johan Tengvall has been the leading counsel behind the following cases:

“Målsägandebiträdet i hovrätten II” NJA 2020 s. 141

“Anhörigersättning vid bevittnande av mord” NJA 2020 s. 1142

Public defender in a case with a ruling from January 2024 where the prosecutor sought attempted murder and 9 years imprisonment, but the court convicted for aggravated assault with 5 years imprisonment.
